A fly on a window
I am feeling tired.
Now what happens is like a fly on a window; you repeatedly bang your way out, hoping that it will bring you to where you wanna be, but you know you are just a fly and never in your ability would you be able to break through the glass. But the light from outside is so nice and warm , you know you will be happy when you get outside, you see the purpose and the benefit it will bring you....
What would you do if you are working with all your heart and might, believing your efforts can and will lead to a better end result: to make something work... but you know that others are not similarly aligned. Then when you get sucked into the pointlessness of it all, your direct report in return won't allow you to slow down also. You want to perform, you believe in what you do, but deep down inside, you just want to stop and slow down and enjoy......

Making up for lost time
It seems to be an inherent behaviour for some people who have somehow discovered the joy of.. say, using the computer or playing games of recent and because they felt a part of them was lost in their earlier days, they hurriedly go to the extreme and do it in excess.
I'm not sure if that holds true for my mom, but she is DEFINITELY addicted to the internet now, specifically Facebook.
Gone are the days where she sits contently on her bed, munching on titbits and getting a dose of romance or the days where she watches the time to catch her soap operas. Only to be replaced with lying on the bed with the laptop, yelling when the wireless somehow got disconnected and calling out every 6 hours 'I need to go collect my wages now!'. On the plus side, she is now with a more cheerful disposition, has more to look forward to (most important factor to get through the days! in her case, 6 hours), has more friends and no longer feels like life is too routine i.e. working for us (as she sees it).
All this sprouted due to my stolen passport case in
December 07. Silver lining indeed...
Interesting to note is a certain someone, going all out on the new found 'joy' as well. Honestly, I find it really weird tho.

How much do you REALLY earn?
I was reading a blog of a friend about
peeling durians that I wanna share with all you people :)
Brings me back to this conversation I had on a similar note. There are times where me and my teammates have just got so carried away with working or just lingering around and chatting, I end up leaving work shy of 8pm. Not healthy and a habit we need to shake off. Even if we were enjoying ourselves.
What are you still doing here? Go home! Shoo shooSome of my friends scare me with the 'passion' they put in. I used to think I was pretty bad in this sense but I think over the little experience that I have gained, I have DEFINITELY slackened (read as: learnt to relax and chill)... yup I have!
